A Port Talbot carpentry and joinery business fitting kitchens across Neath Port Talbot and South Wales.
Who we are
Tyro Carpentry LTD is a carpentry and joinery business based in Port Talbot. The work covers the full range of the trade, from bespoke joinery and fitted furniture through to fencing and decking, but kitchens are where most of it sits, and this site is about that side of the business.
The company is registered in England and Wales under company number 16573984, and the trade qualification behind the work is a City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery, backed by health and safety, PASMA, IPAF and first aid training. The business carries insurance, and we are happy to show any of that before you commit to anything.
We do not run a showroom. We come to you, measure the room properly and quote against what is actually there. That keeps the overheads out of the price, and it means the person who quotes your kitchen is the person who fits it.
How we work
Kitchens are disruptive. You lose the room that the house runs on, often for a couple of weeks. The way we try to make that bearable is unglamorous: turn up when we said we would, say what is happening next, keep the dust down, and sweep up at the end of every day rather than at the end of the job.
We would rather turn a job down than rush it. If a lead time is going to be eight weeks because of a worktop, we will say eight weeks rather than tell you what you want to hear and then miss it.

The same hands throughout
We quote, fit and finish the job ourselves rather than passing it on.
What we will not do
- Quote without seeing the room. A phone figure for a kitchen is a guess, and guesses only ever move one way.
- Start before you have it in writing. Every job gets an itemised quotation first, so there is no argument later about what was included.
- Work outside our trade. We are carpenters and joiners. Gas and electrical connections go to the registered engineers for those trades.
- Disappear at the snagging stage. If a door drops or a drawer catches after we have gone, we come back and sort it.
